IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE LICENSE LAW
(passed during the 81st Legislative Session)
You are encouraged to go to the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners website and review the new changes to the plumbing license law –
http://www.tsbpe.state.tx.us/. Here are a few of these changes:
- A written proposal, invoice or contract relating to plumbing services performed by or under the direction of a plumber licensed under this chapter must contain the name and license number of the responsible master plumber and the name, mailing address and telephone number of the Board.
- A Master Plumber means a person licensed under this chapter who: (A) is skilled in the design, planning and superintending of plumbing and in the practical installation, repair and servicing of plumbing; (B) has worked as a journeyman plumber: (i) for at least four years; or (ii) for at least one year and has successfully completed a training program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship or another nationally recognized apprentice training program accepted by the board.
